Black Breath: the residency
A monthlong creative incubation for Black artists exploring healing and liberation in their work.
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica
May 1 – 31, 2026
Public Performance: May 23–24 at the Black Abundance Festival
Rooted in the lush Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, this monthlong experience offers four Black artists the rare gift of sacred time, creative freedom, and radical rest. Together, we cultivate a space where art becomes a portal for healing, visioning, and liberation. This is for any Black artist exploring healing or liberation in their arts practice.
This is your invitation to exhale. To create without urgency. To be deeply supported in your process.
